There are two definitions of subscription these days!

There's a DIRECTION subscription...for which you pay annually for 4 issues.

and then there's webpage subscriptions on the website.

This just means that if you want to be kept informed of changes to content on certain webpages you "subscribe" to that content. When you get the message "you are not currently subscribed to any content on this website" it simply means you don't have any webpage subscriptions currently.

Why would you?
