1. EDITORIAL
For all those who haven't yet heard or read the writing on the wall, Jeremy Chance has officially passed the keys for the Direction closet to me. Whilst this means there will be a new flurry of motivation in the camp, it also regretably will push publication of THE FUTURE behind schedule. HOWEVER! This simply means that a little extra time is created for all contributing writers of forthcoming issues.....which ones you ask? Have a look at what is in the pipeline. Future Issues
In the meantime the Freemail information will keep the flow to keep all those sore eyes amused until such time as The Future arrives....which it seems to be doing at an even faster rate every day.Is it Christmas shopping time already?
NOW is the time for all input and advice for the future direction of Direction Journal. I want your suggestions as to how we can spread our knowledge and talents even further afield in the community. Are there things we need to do that aren't getting done now?
Can you help us to do things a better way?
Past issues can be viewed here:
I look forward to all responses.
Safe and Merry Christmas to all.
Cheers,
Paul Cook

2. ALEXTECH LIST NEWS
Sadly, my regular commentator for this column, Kay S. Hooper, has dropped off the AT map. If anyone has heard from her, tell her that there's an over worked editor at Freemail who will double her wages if she comes back to me!
My scanning of the list since about mid November(since I lost a pile of my archives when transferring to my new Mac) brings up a treasure-trove of topics on the table. Speed reading, weightlifting, a lengthy comparative discussion on three modalities and the Alexander Technique, leading into a very personal journey/commentary into inhibition by one poster, prompting congratulatory remarks from more than one of the regulars.
The open discussion forum is currently toying with breathing and ends and means.
Any question that you have about the Alexander Technique can be posed on this list, I highly recommend subscribing, observing and then diving in. Instructions to so do so can be found at the following link.
Hope to see you there, and Kay too...?
The sponsor of the list is DIRECTION, the international journal of the Alexander technique.

People can now join a second Direction sponsored list discussing the Alexander Technique.

KAUAI ALEXANDER COURSE
2002
MAY 21 - 28, 2002
Since 1990 we have organized an annual residential course on the beautiful
island of
Kauai in Hawaii. The main idea was to offer individual work in the Alexander
Technique
in a small group setting, during an intensive six-day period. As our goal
of keeping the
course small (10-12 students), we also realized the importance of free time
to absorb
the information and enjoy the island.
